What can drive people crazy about Farmville

There is a lot of clicking in Farmville. If you want to level up quickly you are talking about thousands of clicks every day. And it doesn’t get any easier as you go on.

The first 25 or so levels in Farmville can be challenging, even for real facebook game fanatics. After that, it really is tough going. The makers have increased the work load for leveling hugely over this threshold.

In fact, there are only 3 ways to level up at a rate that keeps you from pulling out your hair that I know of.

1 Buy fuel to run your tractor more often (that free fuel doesn’t go far).

Facebook Security Hoax

There was a recent hoax that one of the most successful farming automation programs (Farmville Extreme Manager) included spyware and was collecting information from Facebook profiles etc.

Facebook staff quickly denied this but being cautious I sent a couple of emails to security forums. One guy pointed out that this particular software is available form a lot of major software suppliers who always test software for anything nasty before putting it on their sites. Another gave me me a lot of very technical information which boiled down to 'it's impossible.'

Why I decided to Automate Farmville

1. Even if you spend hundreds of dollars a month on Farmville fuel you still have a lot of clicking to do.
2. The cheats are always being found out and losing their farms.

This leaves automation. Automation allows you to enjoy the best parts of the game. It also means that you earn coins and XP at a good rate- whether you are asleep or awake and busy elsewhere.This really speeds up levelling.

It was clear from the beginning of Farmville that- as enjoyable as Farmville was- it did involve a lot of repetition. Pretty quickly, bots to automate the more repetitive tasks began to appear. At first, they were clunky and had a habit of getting stuck. Over the months, though they evolved to become easy to use and robust.

Extreme FarmVille Manager

This is my favorite program overall. It is easier to set up and use than Farm Bot. It has been around a long time and it’s latest version is very stable. It has free and frequent updates. Most importantly of all: it works every time.

It can do almost every repetitive task that needs to be done on Farmville and has a friendly interface. It can plow, plant and harvest seeds. Collect revenue from animals and trees. Work on, or fertilize neighbors farms. Work away at earning ribbons.

It can also use the plow/plant/destroy trick to level up quickly

What it can't do, is decide which crops are best for which level, how to set out the farm for the best results and so on. The strategic decisions are your's alone.

Don't lose any Sleep

There are plenty of stories of people setting the alarm for the middle of the night to make a harvest and then plant again. This is definately something you can avoid if you automate Farmville.

Farm Helper

I tried this out on a friend's computer recently. It is the latest in the line of FarmVille add-ons that help with the repetitive tasks.

There are two versions, a 'pro' version that does all of the things Farming Extreme Manager can do and a 'lite' version.The 'lite' is a free download and though it doesn't do too much, it will harvest crops for you and also help out on neighbor's farms.

My friend had the 'pro' version (which has the lite version, included) and loved it. I was easy to see why. It is an efficient machine, once you get used to the controls. There are even some extra options for converting coins into XP that are quicker than Farmville Extreme Manager (giving you up to 9000XP in one hour!). Another neat feature is the way it helps you find animals to adopt by monitoring postings to the wall.

The only drawback for me was that I found the layout and graphics display less professional, than my usual Farmville add-on. Of course, this is just a matter of taste and I certainly wouldn't discourage anyone from buying it. It does what it says on the packet and for seven dollars is a bargain.

Apparently, sales of Farm Helper shot up like crazy after the Farmville Extreme Manager security hoax. I am pointing no fingers.

Farm Helper

Farm Bot

Farm Bot was the first Farmville automation manager that I tried. It does most of the things that Extreme FarmVille Manager does and many people like it.

For me, personally, it was a hard work to get it working and keep it working. There are lots of 'do’s and don’ts' and things that can go wrong.

The Farm Bot admin staff are very helpful, though and fix the problems as they arise.
